Only One Mother

Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,

Hundreds of shells on the shore together,

Hundreds of birds that go singing by,

Hundreds of birds in the sunny weather.

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,

Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,

Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,

But only one mother the wide world over.

Wonderful Mother

God made a wonderful mother,

A mother who never grows old;

He made her smile of the sunshine.

And He moulded her heart of pure gold;

In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,

In her cheeks fair roses you see;

God made a wonderful mother,

And He gave that dear mother to me.

Our Special Mum

(For Elderly Mother)

There's so much to say, many memories to share

About a wonderful mum who did nothing but care.

Not just for us but all those she knew,

Her genuine kindness would always shine through.

Mum was not always happy, it's true to say.

Hard work and worries often got in the way

The suffering in the world she always kept in sight,

Wishing she could do something to put everything right.

To know she'll join her loved ones, reunite with our dad,

Will give us the strength not to be sad.

We must cherish the thought that even in our own grief

The suffering has gone; in its place she's found peace.

She's no longer trapped in a world with no past.

The memories she gave us will always last.

We'll remember a special lady who had so much to give,

And she will stay in our hearts as long as we live.

Dad, I Promise In Your Memory

I promise to carry on your contagious smile.

The same one that would light up a room the minute you walked in.

I promise to laugh and never take myself to seriously.

I promise to love harder and forgive faster.

I promise to be content, in every sense of the word.

To be thankful for the air in my lungs,

and the nineteen years I was blessed to have with you.

I promise to try and have as big a heart as you did.

To be selfless.

To know what I have, and know what I can give to others who are not as fortunate.

I promise to grieve that absence of your physical being for only a moment.

And then I promise to set you free.

I promise to never give up on others,

even when I'm ready to give up on myself.

I promise to be a friend and a mentor as you were.

To be a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or a set of ears to simply listen...

And I can promise you this...

I can promise to open my heart to you when I fall in love and when I fall apart.

When I become a Mrs. and when I become a mother.

I promise to let you hear every giggle and feel every hug.

To know every heartache,

and let you be there for every triumphant moment...

The most important promise I can make,

despite all my failures and all my losses.

A promise that carries the equivalence of all the rest combined is this...

I promise to make you proud.

With all that I am,

I love you.

The Greatest Man

I knew a man, he was the greatest man

I've known in all my days.

Then one day God called on him,

and now he's gone away.

I loved this man with all my heart,

and in my heart he'll stay.

Continuing to lift me up,

and lead me when I stray.

This great man he was my Dad,

he meant the world to me.

He was always there supporting me,

even when he disagreed.

He was my rock, my sounding board,

He could always make me see.

The things in life that matter most,

are truth and family.

Even though eye to eye,

we do not always see.

I promise Dad to live my life,

with love and honesty.

I hope you know you're my hero,

and this you'll always be.

I will find strength, I'll carry on,

I'll make you proud of me.

Until the day we meet again,

I know waiting you will be.

In paradise, I'll see you there,

with your arms wide open for me.

Tribute To My Dad

A special dad is hard to find,

You dad I'm keeping in my mind,

I wished you could have stayed forever,

But I will never forget you oh not ever.

If dreams weren't dreams and dreams came true,

I wouldn't be here I'd be with you.

Distance is one thing that keeps us apart,

But dad you will always remain in my heart.

A special smile, a special face, a special someone I can't replace,

I love you and I always will,

You filled a space that no one will ever replace.

My Grandma

My Grandma had so many fine qualities of which I will name a few,

she had a generous caring nature and a loving heart too.

My Grandma always saw the good in everyone,

no matter what they had done, a bad word she would speak of no one.

My Grandma will always be there for me no matter where she is,

she was a best friend who shared with me a special bond.

Grandma as we all say our goodbyes, tears are falling from my eyes,

and how my heart hurts so.

Grandma you will always be in our memories and hearts,

so Grandma remember how much we love you so and that you are one of a kind.

Our Uncle

Kind, loving, generous,

cheeky, playful, adventurous.

Full of laughter, full of fun,

could get a smile from anyone.

Uncle

When God gave us gifts

he tried to be fair,

but when we got you

we got more than our share.

We Had a Wonderful Mother

We had a wonderful mother,

One who never really grew old;

Her smile was made of sunshine,

And her heart was solid gold;

Her eyes were as bright as shining stars,

And in her cheeks fair roses you see.

We had a wonderful mother,

And that’s the way it will always be.

But take heed, because

She’s still keeping an eye on all of us,

So let’s make sure

She will like what she sees.

Her Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of her as gone away

her journey’s just begun

life holds so many facets

this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting

from the sorrows and the tears

in a place of warmth and comfort

where there are no days or years.

Think how she must be wishing

that we could know today

how nothing but our sadness

can really pass away.

And think of her as living

in the hearts of those she touched

for nothing loved is ever lost

and she was loved so much.

Feel No Guilt in Laughter,

He’d Know How Much You Care

Feel no guilt in laughter, he’d know how much you care.

Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.

You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to.

He’d hope that you could carry on the way you always do.

So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,

The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.

Let memories surround you, a word someone may say

Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,

That brings him back as clearly as though he were still here,

And fills you with the feeling that he is always near.

For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart

And he will live forever locked safely within your heart.
